SOUP

Festival of Street Theatre

SOUP is a street theatre festival for Faversham, Kent.

July 2014, saw local professional companies and many Kentish performers take to the streets in and around Faversham market for a day of theatre, dance, circus and silliness. Performers from the ages of 13 to 80 delighted audiences throughout the day with various styles of performance, including acrobatics, dance, stilt walking, physical theatre, music and comedy.

Acrojou, Accidental Colective, Circo Rum Ba Ba, Dizzy O' Dare and Pestiferous were the five local professional companies who showcased their work to the residents of Faversham and visiting audiences from Kent and the South East.

They were joined by the acrobatic Stupididity, Stevenson Thompson's Moving Memory company, sea shanty band 'Swinging the Lead; and Ideas Test youth group 'Impact'.

Ideas Test the Creative People & Places project for Swale & Medway funded this pilot event. Their numerous arts projects continue to take place across the area and aim to increase arts participation for everyone. Please see their website for more information: www.ideastest.co.uk
